About Duneto
Duneto answers one question: which desert, day trip or activity from Marrakech fits the days you have. This page explains how the answers are put together and how to tell us when something is wrong.

Short answer
Duneto is an independent decision guide for trips from Marrakech. Distances come from open map routing, prices and inclusions from Civitatis listings with the date they were read, and climate from NOAA weather-station averages. Pages recommend by the days you have, not by price: the cheaper or closer option comes first whenever it suits you better.
What Duneto is
A guide to one decision: which desert from Marrakech, which day trip or activity, and in how many days. It isn't a tour operator and doesn't sell anything directly. There are no accounts, no newsletter and no comments.
Most pages open with a short answer and then the trade-offs, because the honest reply often depends on how many days you have. The desert comparison is the page the rest of the site builds on.
Method and sources
Every figure on the site is kept in one place, so a correction updates every page in every language at once. The figures are reviewed regularly and whenever a listing changes.
- Road distances and driving times: OpenStreetMap routing (OSRM), checked on 12 October 2026, rounded and without long stops
- Prices and inclusions: Civitatis listings, shown with the date they were read
- Climate: NOAA monthly normals for 1991 to 2020 (Marrakech-Menara, Ouarzazate and Errachidia, which stands in for Merzouga as the nearest long-record station) and Climate-data.org for Zagora, which is modelled and therefore approximate
How Duneto picks and orders tours
Every tour on Duneto is a Civitatis listing that was still active when prices were last read, with a page in the language you are reading, or in English when it has none, and the page says so. The first tour on a page is the one that answers the question of that page: the Agafay night for one day, the Zagora trip for two, the Merzouga trip for three or four. Further tours are listed with the most reviewed first, using the review counts on Civitatis.
Prices are the lowest per-person 'from' price shown on the listing, read on the date shown beside it. Private tours are priced per group, so they show no per-person price. Prices are read again at each review of the site, so a figure can have changed by the time you book: confirm it on the listing.
Prices and climate figures, read carefully
Tour prices change often, which is why the site says 'from' or 'around'. The listing you book on is the final word, including what's included.
Climate figures are town averages. Desert camps are usually colder at night than the station numbers suggest, and a single year can be hotter or wetter than the average.
How Duneto recommends
Each page starts from your days. One day points to Agafay or a day trip, two days to Zagora, three or four to Merzouga. Prices come second.
When the cheaper or closer option suits you better, the page says so: Agafay rather than a long drive if you have one day, Zagora rather than Merzouga if you have two, or no tour at all when something in the city fits better.
Photos, illustrations and corrections
Some images on Duneto are AI-generated illustrations. They're labelled as such and are there to set the scene, not to show what a specific camp or tour looks like. Real photographs are credited to their source, such as Unsplash or the Moroccan National Tourist Office.
Facts drift: prices move, roads are repaired, camps relocate. If you spot a mistake, write to contato@duneto.com. Each correction is made once and reaches every page and every language.
Questions people ask
Who runs Duneto and how do I report a mistake?
Duneto is an independent guide, not a tour operator. If a price, distance or detail is wrong, write to contato@duneto.com with the page and what you found; corrections are made in one place and reach every language.
Are the prices on Duneto up to date?
They come from Civitatis listings and are recorded with the date they were checked. Prices change, so treat them as 'from' figures and confirm on the listing before you book.
Are the images real photographs?
Some are, and they're credited. Others are AI-generated illustrations, labelled as such, and shouldn't be read as photos of a particular place or tour.
